Why is nobody talking about the charging network? I’m a former Tesla owner from Europe so I don’t know the specifics in the US. But in Europe, only Tesla has the required charging network. The main reason someone would buy a Tesla is its supercharger network. Not car aesthetics, not Elon, not autonomy - only the fact that an EV with a great charging network is actually useful for every day use. So imo, Tesla ans Elon really messed up with their distractions and deviations from their original plans that were already in motion (pun intended).

Too late for me, I bought a Model Y last July with NO clue what the nut would be doing in the months ahead. I actually like the car but I’m late 60’s, live on a beautiful estate 30-45 minutes outside Philly. Charge in the garage and going tomorrow for its first 6,250 tire rotation. That’s about 700 miles a month, so I’m guessing that’s no where near typical of an average driver these days. I LOVE the autopilot. Push a button, tell the car where to drive me, it pulls out the garage, drives me there…and parks itself. So…

“Full self driving” is simultaneously a super-cool technology and an utterly worthless option. The actual value proposition is 1) you want a robot chauffeur or 2) you want your car to hire out as an Uber taxi, with all the wear and tear and abuse that unmonitored infrastructure is subject to. I wouldn’t pay a chauffeur 50 cents to drive me around, there’s no way I’d pay for a robot to risk my life on the freeway or on any road, subject to countless technologies and circumstances all remaining ideal.
The Tesla Optimus robot has the value proposition that now you want a butler, except you get a clumsy ineffective burden rather than something capable of accomplishing something (again, masquerading as “real cool” technology).
Tesla is a dismal failure.

Elon is a terrible micromanager that has no idea on what he is talking about and refuses to get advice from the real experts in their fields. He uses cheap marketing ploys to pump Tesla stock just so that he can secure his options. Teslas downfall is solely on him. He would much rather spend money on misleading investors rather than invest in any new ground breaking technologies for EVs. It’s real sad that his 10 year lead in EVs amounted to nothing. He is doing what intel did. Got rid of CEOs that understood what industry they were in and put in a marketing CEO

I can see where this might be unsettling for investors, however, I am not sure how so many people don't understand a company that evolves with the times and the products that Tesla, or Elon, if you will, that people will need or want. I am a Tesla investor, but I have never thought of Tesla as an automaker. I've always thought of it as a tech company that looks ahead at what people will want or need and pivots towards them. I think Elon can see that we allowed China to move ahead of us by revealing our IP and doing nothing to protect it. People will buy the cheapest EV they can buy, and they do not care how much stolen IP, or underpaid labor, or non-existent environmental regulations are involved in the making of their car. We say we care, but our actions show we do not.
