As a Chinese, I feel extremely proud. In fact, I don't even know about our country's grand goals in space. Usually, what I see in the news is just that a rocket has been successfully launched, followed by a brief overview of the scientific research obxtives of this rocket launch. Our country is really very low - key.

As an engineer I know that fluid dynamics are tricky for liquids, gaseous fluids add an extra step of complexity. I can imagine that in a space without gravity it puts another layer on these analyses. My SolidWorks Flow-Simulation has already problems with very mondain problems where a gaseous fluid has solid particles in it, like dust. We have to admire the studies they are doing up there..

China built the space station because the Wolf Amendment prevented them from working with NASA.
When China recovered moon rocks from the far side, they lent it to other countries for study except US... because the Wolf Amendment prevented NASA from working with China.

The ONLY times I ever see 'taikonaut' used are in western media - like this one. Non-English Chinese speakers wouldn't have a clue about this portmanteau. Chinese terms for astronaut:.
formal: 宇航員 - yu han yuan - universe sailer
colloquial: 太空人 - tai kon ren - space man/men

To me, it makes better sense to either use the Chinese term 'taikonren' entirely - or just use our own term (astronaut) in our own media. After all, we don't create a different portmanteau for airmen from each country (as an example) - they are all simply "airmen" in English.

這是少有的幾個我看到在西方媒體上使用“taikonnaut”的頻道。對英文和中文都不熟悉的觀眾來說可能完全不懂這個合成詞的的意思。中文中對應宇航員的術語：
正式：宇航員 - yu han yuan - 太空航行員
口語：太空人 - tai kon ren - 太空人

· Funding space exploration programs
· Building the first big molten salt nuclear reactors
· Pushing the boundaries on Fusion energy
· Transitioning into Green energy

· While also transitioning into electric vehicles
· Combating desertification
· Helping the third world develop
Like damn, isn’t this what the leader nation of the world should be doing? Not to get too political but meanwhile the US is:
· Cutting NASA’s funding
· Subsidizing a single billionaire’s companies on Space and electric vehicles (Elon Musk)
· Fear-mongering about nuclear for about 45 years now, pushing gas and coal as “patriotic?”
· Openly mocking and combating a Green transition
· Stifling public transportation
· Waging economic war on everyone else
· Instead of helping develop the third world, expends more time bullying and bombing
· And now is cracking down on their own citizens and deporting them elsewhere without due process like they fear monger China would behave lol
It’s like one is trying to lift humanity’s long term goals and the other is looking for a way to make everything worse.

為什么中國在做我們期望的世界第一的超級大國該做的所有事??？

· 不幫助第三世界發(fā)展，反而熱衷轟炸欺凌

I didn't realize how far the Chinese have come with their space station. It is growing, while the International Space Station (ISS) is scheduled to be deorbited in January 2031。

What I like the Tiangong station is it's modular design which you can retire old modules and replace with new modules easily without too much manual work. Unlike IIS you can't replace the main frx since space shuttle retired. It can also keep expanding by add new modules.

我喜歡天宮的一點是它的模塊化設計，這樣你就可以用新的模塊替換掉舊的而不需要花費太多功夫。不像國際空間站，主架構退休前你都不能替換。天宮還可以持續(xù)不斷地添加新模塊。
